Meet Ms. Joseph

Hey everyone! My name is Gabrielle Joseph. I was born and raised on the island of St. Thomas, located in the United States Virgin Islands. I graduated from Georgia Southern University with my B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Writing and Culture & Society and a minor in Management. I’m the 9th Grade Facilitator here at SACS.

I have worked with and taught children since 2009, volunteering at my local church VBS program, tutoring at an afterschool program, teaching Kindergarten at the Boys and Girls Club and in 2017, teaching 3rd grade Bible and Social Studies at the St. Thomas/St. John Seventh-day Adventist school. I moved with my family to Georgia the summer of that year.

I have had the great opportunity to do a year of service with the nonprofit organization CityYear which is a part of the bigger organization AmeriCorps. I went to New York for the school year 2020-2021 and worked with 5th graders at a local school in Astoria, Queens. There, along with my team we provided one on one homework assistance, after-school programs, and school wide activities all through a remote space.

My passion is to be able to inspire, encourage and motivate my students to believe in themselves and to love learning and I hope with God’s help to be a positive influence in their lives.
