Student/Teacher Ratio
.
We proudly maintain a very low student to teacher ratio at SACS.  For children ages 5 and below, our teacher/student ratio is 1:7.  For all classes in our grade school, any classroom containing more than 15 students will be staffed with a part- or full-time teacher's aide in addition to the head teacher.

Our classrooms are organized as such:
Room 1: Preschool (3-year-olds and young 4-year-olds)
Room 2: Pre-Kindergarten (4-year-olds)
Room 3: Kindergarten
Room 4: 1st and 2nd Grades
Room 5: 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades
Room 6: 6th, 7th, and 8th Grades

Although having more than one grade per class is not typical, we find that our students do very well. The younger children have the benefit of learning about their own material and also hearing the information that the older children are studying about. The older children get a great review of past learning subjects. Children at our school are encouraged to work ahead if they excel at certain subjects. During our 2007-2008 school year, one of our 3rd Graders competed in a statewide spelling bee for 4th-8th Graders because he was working at the 5th Grade level in that subject at our school. He proudly came in 3rd. (For more information, please see Our School in the News.)
